Jamen Zacharias

Jamens interest in martial arts began over 25 years ago. He studied karate and kickboxing during his youth. At 13 he became very sick with chrons disease. This illness proved near fatal. By 19, during battles with sickness and surgery, Jamen chose to pursue mastery in martial arts.
In 1992, he was introduced to the philosophical art of Jeet Kune Do and the weapons based art of Kali. In 1994, he entered formal instructorship under renowned martial arts expert, Mr. Thomas C. Cruse.
Thomas introduced Jamen to advanced training methodologies, learning the root of martial arts functionality. Thomas Cruse is known world wide for his depth of experience, precise teaching abilities and world class skills.
Jamen was certified to teach at increasing levels in 1995, 1996, and 1997 and became a Full Instructor in 1999 under Thomas Cruse directly. After over 9 years as a Full Instructor, Jamen was elevated to Senior Full Instructor.
Jamen trained Arnis and the healing arts of Tai Chi Gung directly under Datu Shishir Inocalla; he earned instructorships at increasing levels in 2000, 2003 and 2007. He is a certified Full Instructor (Guru) under Datu Shishir Inocalla.

Master Shishir Inocalla is a peace loving soul with tremendous abilities as a teacher and practitioner of both martial and healing arts.
Jamen pursued the sword arts of Iaido and Kum Do while training and teaching in South Korea. He earned a 1stdegree black belt in Kum Do and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Iaido under his teachers Mr. Min and Mr Jong. He found these arts to be instrumental in the development of a focussed and composed mind.
Over 10 years ago, Jamen delved into the ideal of functionalizing the sciences conducive to justice and peace, a standard his heart deeply longed for.
With a thirst for knowledge, truth and purpose in life, Jamen investigated and entered the Baha I Faith. The Baha I Faith upholds the unfettered, independent investigation of truth, the oneness of mankind, Oneness of the Creator and the essential Oneness of Religion.
It is Jamens greatest pleasure to reflect deeply upon the precepts deposited within the Baha I Sacred Writings as well as the Sacred Texts and philosophical thought of all other Faiths. In addition, he diligently studies the gems of humanities rich philosophical martial arts heritage and continues to learn from those pursuing mastery in the arts.
The science of discovering the root of violence and the path of peace became a focal point of study and practice. This standard developed into what is now called, Path of Rest.
Path of Rest is an art form concerned with transcending primitive impulses, in favour of advancing in higher abilities, consistent with the potential nobility and sanctity of the human station.
These aims consist of pursuing the study of force as a servant of justice, manifesting calm, composure, proper perception, developing effortlessness over brute force, with the ideal of peace.
Path of Rest is fast becoming recognized for its ability to advance according to these ideals.
While living in Korea with his wife, Jamens skills and expertise was sought after by martial arts instructors and schools. Jamen performed a series of seminars in martial arts academies in Seoul and Chung Ju South Korea.
In addition he offered lecture and demonstration at the UNESCO Peace Conference in South Korea, discussing the standard virtues of peace and justice underlying true martial art philosophies.
Jamen traveled to the Philippines and studied personally with a handful of Kali masters. He served as an Assistant Instructor to Grand Master ‘nene’ Tortal, teaching the Philippine Military Forces, in Philippines.
Kali is an art that in no small way provides a catapult for almost any other system or style. It is truly a functional approach to weapons training and can be studied in a manner that genuinely assists the development of ones entire martial arts experience.
Jamen spent 5 years in the security profession, as a senior officer. He experienced high levels of work related violence, yet handled them in the most non-destructive manner, consistent with his professional focus and developments.
He has since personally trained professional doormen, mobile and loss prevention security officers, law enforcement, professional fire fighters and military.
In addition Jamen has trained and worked with challenged youth, parents, social workers, woman’s groups, self help groups, professional actors, DJs, children, schools, youth camps, woman and many experienced martial arts instructors.
Jamen has received advanced training in Counselling and Coaching, and mentors directly under innovative Seeking Excellence Coach, Robert Cacchioni, a close friend, senior student and top certified teacher of the A.T.I. Arts, under Jamen Zacharias.
This relationship has led to the development of ‘Lotus Path’, which harmonizes all available Peace Making Arts of Path of Rest, and principles within Communicative and Guidance Arts.
Jamen is a published columnist on the subject of Path of Rest, martial sciences and cultivative arts. In addition he has published articles on martial arts and martial arts philosophies.
Jamen continues to write articles, manuals and books on the martial arts and their philosophies for future publication and distribution
Jamen is frequently contracted for personal instruction, intensive personal instruction, and apprenticeship, continuing education for instructors, workshops and special events.
